1895 Freeman
Home - from Nellie Milligan
Chart with Nellie's
identification of family members. Note that Nellie does not include
Buren. It is, of course, possible that Buren took the photo.
There also may be another person just to the right of the small
tree on the front porch. Based on sizes, it seems that if the
person to the right of the chimney is George W. (age 12) then
the person to the left is too old to be Dee (age14) - perhaps
the left person, apparently in white shirt and tie, is Buren
(age 22).

Higgins Home Fire - from Jo Sue Sweeney
The former Freeman family home burned in December 1915, and
was rebuilt the following year by the then owners, Andrew and
Lou (Carpenter) Freeman. On the back of the photo was written,
"Wreck of the Freeman's old home, N.C."
[Andrew Pinkney
Higgns married Lourany 'Lou' Carpenter, sister of Susanna (Carpenter)
