Harrill Ancestry Chart and Ahnentafel

Doc Claude HARRILL was the son of David Benjsmin Franklin HARRILL and Julia Ursilla EDWARDS, and the husband of Dovie Eugenia FREEMAN, the second child of Francis Logan FREEMAN and Eve T,. DOBBINS. While it is believed that the HARRILL ancestry as presented here is correct, this compilation is not based on rigorous research. The Harrill Ancestry Chart and Ahnentafel are based on information gathered by the compiler in March 2003, and will be supplemented by subsequent discoveries.

Harrill Ahnentafel

Since it would be wrong to assume everyone knows the Ahnentafel format, a brief description will be given. The beginning person, for whom the table of ancestors is created, is assigned a number - conveniently the number 1. That person's father is person 2 and the mother is person 3. This continues throughout the table, with each person's number being doubled to obtain the person's father's number, and 1 is added to the father's number to obtain the mother's number. Hence, if a person has the number 17 before the name, we know that the person is female (odd number greater than 1), that her father is number 34 (2 X 17), her mother is 35 (34 + 1), and that her child in the ancestral line is number 8 (integer of 17/2). The Ahnentafel presented is an expanded format, showing all known children of each couple, with the child in the line being considered having the Ahnentafel number given (which will always be one-half of the father's number).
