SML Comment: "His (Nathaniel JOHNSON's] sons Charles and Oliver moved from Bloomfield, NY to purchase land from the Holland Co. below Buffalo at Boston Hill. Oliver moved west after that. Nath's Dau Ann married David Chaffee and lived in Belvidere VT until the year of no summer, 1816 and then moved also to Boston Hill, NY, by then called Patchen. Charles had a son Elihu and Ann had a dau Ann , the cousins married. DAR records give Nathaniel's wife several different names. I believe Chester is correct as David and Ann's first child is named Chester Chaffee and there are NO Chesters in the Chaffee family. Charles mother died and was buried there, and her death date and age are the same as given for the birth of Anna Chester." Information received via email in Oct. 2002 from a descendant of Charles and Ann (Chaffee) Johnson.
