Mrs. Austin sang in Trinity Church choir, New Haven. She took an active part in the City Hospital Auxiliary and was one of the officers of the Ladies Board of Management of Grace Hospital, New Haven. Both church and civic work filled a large part of her life as long as her health permitted.

She married Elihu Lester Austin, son of Ezra Austin & Rhoda Janet Jones, on 9 May 1871 in New Haven, Conn. Born Derby, Conn., on 25 Mar 1843. Died New Haven, Conn., on 12 May 1909. Data from Mason.
