Research: At present, the parents and siblings of Frances Howard MERRITT are not known, with the only statement available being that she was "an orphan of English ancestry." Since middle names were generally not used during this era, it is possible that Frances was born as a HOWARD, and married first a Mr. MERRITT. Research continue.

Research: George's will of 1805, in Elbert Co., GA, includes a son John, and names Thomas BURTON as one of three executors. John TURMAN was bequeathed $1 in the will. Though uproved, he is perhaps John Barton TURMAN, who married Nancy HOLLAND.
