Research: The information on the Wales family is from a variety of sources. Documentation is scarce and both relationships and vital data is subject to correction. A definitive genealogy of the Wales family is desired. Kristen M. SCHOONOVER has provided a web site with additional Wales Family relationships and information, including the line to her grandfather Sherwood Clinton SCHOONOVER.
From the little information available from undocumented sources, it appears that John WALES married at least three times, with Nathaniel being his son by Ms. RESAMOND and Mary being his daughter by his third wife. John's second wife appears to have been Margaret HOBSON, bur. May 17, 1600. It may be, however, that one or more of the wives mentioned were wives of another John WALES of Yorkshire.
