Research: Family sources in the US names John MOREY and wife Harriet, indicate that they had children, and place several of John's siblings in Augusta Twp., Ontario, Canada prior to 1850. While unproved, it is believed that John MORAY and Harriet BREAKENRIDGE of Augusta Twp., Ontario are the same couple, and the family given here is from family sources in Ontario.

John Morey is listed in the 1817 through 1845 ccensus records of Augusta, Ontario. In 1845 the family include 4 males under 16, 1 male over 16, 2 females under 16, and one female over 16; likely John and Harriet and their six youngest children.

He married Harriet BREAKENRIDGE, daughter of David BREAKENRIDGE Sr. & Hester WRIGHT. Born on 9 Nov 1803. Died on 2 Jun 1872.
