Effie and Albert lived for a short time in Salem Township and then moved to Oscoda Co., where he taught school to the children in the lumber camps. They settled in Lyon Twp., Oakland Co. about 1888 on a 40 acre farm on Eleven Mile Road, northeast of the town of South Lyon.
