The John Barker WILLARD family lived in Turners Falls, MA, where his mother, Mary WILCOX WILLARD, and his sister, Minnie (Mary), lived 1915-1916. John built a Victorian style house in Orford in 1901 on land once owned by his gread grandfather, Samuel MOREY, on the corner of Tannery Hill Road and the road to Archertown. A one-story house built on a knoll there in 1792 by Samuel MOREY was torn down by his great grandson who built his new house east of the old one and further back from the Archertown road. Owned recently by Myron LANDGRAF, now (1979) by Walter A. LIPTON. A picture of Samuel MOREY's old house is on page 3 of SAMUEL MOREY, INVENTOR EXTRAORDINARY, by Alice Doan HODGSON. His house on Orford's Ridge is pictured below his former home.
He married Elizabeth RITCHIE, daughter of Alexander Hay RITCHIE (14 Jan 1822-19 Sep 1895), on 14 Jun 1882.
