Balthasar HUSSONG - b. 1713, Germany; d. by Jul. 1774, Frederick Co., MD. From Limbach, Zweibrucken, Germany, Balthasar arrived at Philadelphia on Sep. 3, 1739 aboard the 'Friendship.' His will dated Apr. 5, 1773 and filed for probate Jul. 24, 1774 in Frederick Co., MD, provides equal shares for his named children and for "Avoh [Eva] & Michael Tanner," the two children of his daughter Eve who died about 1760 as wife of Michael TANNER. Married about 1734/5.

Susanna Margaretha - d. after Nov. 1786, Frederick Co., MD. Called Margaret in Balthasar's will. Balthasar and Susanna were sponsors at the baptism of granddaughters Maria Elizabetha COBLENTZ (Nov. 1, 1767) and Maria Margaretha COBLENTZ (Mar. 31, 1770) at St. John's Evangelical Luthern Church, Germany Twp., York Co., PA. As Susanna Margaret, widow of Balthasar HEISON, she was sponsor at the baptism of her granddaughter Susanna Margaret BEARD (Nov. 29, 1786) at Zion Lutheran Church, Middletown, Frederick Co., MD. Either Balthasar or Susanna (or both) were likely the sponsors at the baptism of additional grandchildren, but specific records have not yet been read.

1. A daughter - b. about 1735, prob. at Limbach, Germany; d. about 1760, prob. in Frederick Co., MD. Married Michael TANNER.
2. Wendel - b. Jul. 5, 1737, prob. at Limbach, Germany. Married Catherine HULL. Son of Wendel and Catherine HUSSONG: Andreas (baptism sponsors "Andreas Holl and Catharina").
3. Juliana (or Ulion) - b. 1742, PA; d. Jan. 12, 1806. Married Herman COBLENTZ, son of Niclaus COBLENTZ and Anna Catherine ORTH. Both Juliana and Herman were buried in the Reformed Church Cemetery at Middletown, Frederick Co., MD. They had been sponsors there at the baptism of several of their nephews and nieces between 1783 and 1792. Their two eldest children married sons of Jacob FLLOK and Barbara, and their three younger children married a son and daughter of Michael CULLER and Eleanor SMITH. Children of Juliana and Herman COBLENTZ: Maria Elizabetha married Jacob FLOOK; Maria Margaretha married John FLOOK; Juliana married John CULLER as his second wife; John Philip married Elizabeth CULLER; and Anna Maria 'Mary Ann' married John CULLER as his first wife.
4. Balthasar - b. 1744, PA; d. 1838. Married Catherine COBLENTZ, daughter of Niclaus COBLENTZ and Anna Catherine ORTH. Daughter of Balthsar and Catherine HUSSONG: Margaretha Barbara.
5. Elizabeth - b. Feb. 14, 1745; d. Dec. 11, 1824. Married on Nov. 5, 1764 to Johann Peter COBLENTZ, son of Niclaus COBLENTZ and Anna Catherine ORTH. Elizabetha was the second wife of Peter. Both were buried in the Middletown Reformed Cemetery, Frederick Co., MD. Son of Elizabeth and Peter COBLENTZ: John Philip married.
6. Peter - b. about 1747.
7. Magdalena - b. Nov. 10, 1750, Adams (formerly York) Co., PA; bap. Christ Church, Littlestown, Adams Co., PA. Married about 1769, York Co., PA Peter HELWIG/HELVEY (b. about 1740; d. about 1835, Clark Co., OH), possibly the son of Charles HELWIG. Peter's will was dated Sep. 2, 1835 in Clark Co., OH. The family had moved to Shenandoah Co., VA by 1783, and to Montgomery Co., VA by 1786. In 1819, they were in Clark Co., OH. Children of Magdalena and Peter HELVEY: Johann Frederich married Nancy CANE; Elizabeth married James FISHER; Louisa Margaretha married Joseph DAVIS; Magdalena married Garland BRUCE; George P. (or Peter) married Peggy PRICE; John married first Rebecca MITCHELL, and second Rachel MARSHALL; Adam married his first cousin Susannah BEARD; Mary Ann married Samuel S. SPICER; and Balso (or Balthasar) married Rhoda Jane HELVEY.
8. Christina - b. 1753, PA; d. 1820. Married Jacob SELL.
9. John - b. about 1756.
10. Catherine - b. 1759, PA; d. 1852. Married Barnet (or Bernhard) BEARD (d, Frederick Co., MD), probably the son of Peter BEARD (b. about 1733; d. Feb. 14, 1794, Woodsboro, Frederick Co., MD). Their children were baptised at Christ (German) Reformed Church, Middletown, Frederick Co., MD between 1783 and 1803. Children of Catherine and Barnet BEARD: Johannes; Catherine; Abraham; Juliana; Elisabetha; Magdalena, twin; Peter, twin; and Sara.
11. Christina Margaret - b. about 1761. Married about 1784 Samuel BEARD, probably the son of Peter BEARD (b. about 1733; d. Feb. 14, 1794, Woodsboro, Frederick Co., MD). The baptism of their daughters Susanna Margaret and Margaret are recorded at Zion Lutheran Church, Middletown, Frederick Co., MD in 1786 and 1792. The family moved to Franklin Co., VA by 1810, and to Clark Co., OH by 1820. Children if Christina and Samuel BEARD: Susanna Margaret married her first cousin Adam HELVEY; Margaret; and probably others.
