Simeon SMITH - b. Nov. 20, 1746, Hampshire Co., MA. Believed to be the son of Ephraim SMITH and Mary PRESTON, based on given names, dates and locations. Named as father of Tammy <sic> SMITH in A MERRILL MEMORIAL, by Samuel Merrill. Simeon was apparently living in Cherry Valley, Otsego Co., NY in 1810 and 1820, and possibly in Onadaga Co., NY in 1800.

Eliza WHEELER - Ancestry unknown. Named as wife of Simeon SMITH and mother of Tammy <sic> in MERRILL genealogy.

1. Simeon - b. by 1765, being over 45 in 1810 census. From a letter written Jan. 25, 1875 by Smith MERRILL, son of Tamma (SMITH) and Allen MERRILL: "My mothers name was Tammie Smith her Fathers name was Simeon Smith her older brother bore his Fathers name he went ???? Canada." Both Simeon, Sr. and Jr. are found in the 1810 and 1820 Censuses of Cherry Valley, Otsego Co., NY. A Sally SMITH, wife of Simeon SMITH, died Mar. 5, 1849 at age 74, and was buried in Wyoming Village Cemetery.
2. Tamma - b. Nov. 11, 1780; d. Jun. 13, 1848, Elton, Town of Freedom, Cattaraugus Co., NY. Married Allen MERRILL.
3. A son - b. about 1784. Possible son, age 16-26 in 1810 Census.
